Cronometer: Daily Calories, Tracked
What I actually eat, logged daily in Cronometer — calories and macros — so the nutrition behind the training is on the record instead of hand-waved.
The protocol
- Log everything in Cronometer through the day, weighing food where it matters.
- Record total calories (kcal) each day.
- Record protein, carbs, and fat (g) to show the macro split.
- Be honest on the heavy days as well as the clean ones — the trend is the point.
- Mark travel days so the streak survives eating on the road.

What this is
Cronometer is a food log that tracks calories and micro/macronutrients against a database of foods. I record my intake daily and publish the totals here so the nutrition side of these protocols isn't a black box — you can see what I actually eat, not an idealized version.
What the numbers mean
- Calories (kcal) — total energy intake for the day. Read it as a trend, not a single day; one high or low day means little.
- Protein (g) — the macro I prioritize for training and recovery. I aim for a consistent daily floor.
- Carbs and fat (g) — the rest of the energy split, which shifts with training load and how I'm eating that week.
Why track it publicly
It's easy to talk about eating well and quietly do something else. Logging intake in the open keeps me honest and lets anyone following along see the real relationship between what I eat, how I train (see the Whoop protocol), and how I feel. The chart and raw log below are my own daily entries.
