Mineral Salt and Lemon Water Before Bed
Thirty ounces about ninety minutes out. The timing is the whole protocol — earlier and it is absorbed, later and it wakes you at 2 AM.
The protocol
- 30oz of water with mineral salt and lemon.
- Roughly 1.5 hours before bed, not at bedtime.
- Puts back what the reverse osmosis system takes out.

What I drink
Thirty ounces of water with mineral salt and lemon, about ninety minutes before bed.
Why it is not part of the supplement stack
Different substance, different job, different clock. The supplements are timed to sleep onset. This is timed to absorption — far enough ahead that it is through me rather than sitting in my bladder, because water taken at bedtime does not improve sleep, it interrupts it at 2 AM.
Ninety minutes is where that line sits for me. Closer and I am up in the night; much earlier and it stops being part of the evening at all.
Why minerals, when the water is already filtered
Because the filtration is what took them out. Reverse osmosis strips dissolved solids indiscriminately — that is the point of it and the reason it works — and minerals go with everything else.
I would rather remove everything and choose what goes back in than filter selectively and hope the right things survived. This is the choosing-what-goes- back-in half of that, and it only makes sense read alongside the RO protocol.
