Thorne Iron Bisglycinate
A standalone, non-constipating iron for when labs show you need more than your prenatal provides — in the gentle bisglycinate form.
Iron needs climb sharply in pregnancy to support expanding blood volume, and many people need more than diet or a prenatal alone provides. The problem with most iron supplements is the stomach upset — which this form is designed to avoid.
Why it's on the list
- 25 mg elemental iron as ferrous bisglycinate — clinically shown to cause far fewer GI side effects than ferrous sulfate, with comparable absorption.
- NSF Certified for Sport, gluten/dairy/soy-free.
- A clean way to add iron only if you actually need it.
Take it with a little vitamin C, between meals or at bedtime, and keep it 2+ hours from calcium, coffee, and tea. Only add supplemental iron beyond your prenatal if your clinician or labs say you need it.
